Car Rental Terms

Reservations

All reservations are made based on the vehicle category, not for a specific model. In case of non-availability of a vehicle in the category pre-selected by the customer, always with reference to a confirmed reservation, HAPPY CAR RENTAL reserves the right to provide to the customer a higher category car, at no extra charge for the customer.

Driver Guarantee

The drivers must be holders of a credit card. If they do not hold a credit card, only under special circumstances, they may be able to rent cars  after depositing a guarantee independent the category in debit card or cash for the rental, in addition to the rental fee, which shall be returned to them at the end of the rental.(sdw insurance  is required with out credid card present)

Mileage

IN rates include 100 km free per day. 1-5Days You can choose unlimited kilometers.
For 5 Days or more all our Car rental A-B-C category rates include unlimited kilometers.
For a monthly car Leasing rental, the rate includes 2000 km free of charge. In case the renter wishes to drive more then he will be charged per kilometer on top of the rental price 0.25 Euro. This charge will be shown on the rental agreement otherwise is a fee of 0.15 Euro per kilometer.

Fuel

The renter has to return the car with the same quantity of fuel as when it was collected. In case the car is returned with a quantity of fuel less than the original (namely, less than the quantity of fuel the vehicle had when collected by the customer), the customer shall be charged with the fuel difference. No customer refund is provided in case of the car returned with a quantity of fuel greater than that collected.

Cancellation Policy

When you make a reservation, you will be asked to make a deposit of 30%. In the event of cancelling 7 days or more prior to your arrival date, no cancellation penalties will be incurred and the deposit will be returned. For any cancellations made less than 7 days prior to your arrival date or in case of non-appearance the deposit is not refundable. (For no obligation inquires, no credit card or deposit is required). *For the months of June, July, August and September, nationa dates, christmas days, new years dates and eastern days there is no refund of deposit or payment in case of cancellation, as after 1 hours without appearing for your reservation or inform us for your delay the reservation is automatically canceled.

1. Accepted Driver's Licenses

25 years old is the minimum age requirement for using cars of category A-B-C

also  must have it 3 years and more from rental day

In order to avoid any unpleasant situations, we would like to draw your attention to the recent law measures (Valid from April 26th, 2018) that have been approved and are already in effect by the Greek ministry of transportation regarding the driving documentation required.
Accepted driving licenses (which must be in possession for at least three year ) as per the updated law in Greece:
• European (from E.U. Countries) , Australian , Canadian and from U.S
• Non-European and issued from any participant country in Vienna’s Convention on Road Traffic.

2. Minimum Rental

One (1) hour.

3. Delivery & Collection

The renter received the vehicle we take pictures and sare via whats App or Email font of you , which he/she examined and found to his complete satisfaction, in perfect condition and appropriate for the purpose he rents it. Renter must return the vehicle and all documents, tools and accessories that accompany it to the Lessor in the same condition he received it at the location and on the date and time designated in this agreement. Otherwise and upon expiration of the rental period, Renter will be obliged to pay to the Lessor the normal rental charge plus expenses for any loss or damage. The Lessor reserves the right to gain repossession and use of the vehicle at any time without notice and without the Renter’s consent, but at the Renter’s expense, from wherever and by any means if at the discretion of the Lessor there is danger of damage or loss of the vehicle as well as risk of not receiving the rental charge or any other due compensation. The Lessor has the right beside the abovementioned case to gain repossession and use of Vehicle if it has been used in violation of this
agreement or of designated rental period.

4. Indemnity

Renter expressly agrees that Lessor is not responsible for any loss or damage suffered by Renter or
third parties, during the rental period and no claim be raised against Lessor for the above reason.

5. Insurance Simle

Due to the Greek law, all Happy Car Rental vehicles are insured against liability to third parties. This insurance is included in our rates.

7. Insurance C.D.W. (Collision Damage Waiver)

Our rates include C.D.W. (Collision Damage Waiver) insurance with relevant amount per category and per incident.

Deposit with out insurance:
2000€ for categories: A
2500€ for categories: B
3500€ for categories: C Family

WITH OUT ANY INSURANCE OPTION ACCEPTABE ONLY CREADID CARD WITH INSURANCE (  document are necessary that certificate your car rental insurace )

8. SCDW – Super Collision Damage Waiver

In all our cars the renter has the ability to lower the excess deductible amount.\

Deposit with scdw insurance:
500€ for categories: A
600€ for categories: B
700€ for categories: C 

 Required without credit card deposit can paid cash or depit card

9. Insurance F.D.W. (Full Damage Waiver)

Renters are able to purchase an additional insurance to waive the above deductible amount by paying an additional daily fee. The daily fee is dependent on the length of the rental period and the selected category. Even with the FDW option the procedure of blocking the deductible amount through your credit card remains the same.(500€ for all categorys) deposit

10. Exceptions in CDW & FDW

*Loss or damages of vehicle parts or accessories listed below will be debited directly to the customer account:• Antenna, wipers, spare tire and tools, hubcap, gas cap, car’s roof caused by roof rack and any luggage on it, registration plates, child seats and baby seats, interior of the car, trays, interior upholstery and car’s keys.                                      • Car’s locks and Windshield / Windows*
• In case of damage underneath of the vehicle happy car rental will hold an additional amount of until the exact damage cost will be issued from the repair shop.
Happy car rental is not responsible for any of the below and customer will be debiting for all expenses:
• Lost or stolen personal belongings in the rented car.
• Extreme dirtiness of the exterior or interior of the car.
• Fuel filing Errors.
• Ferrying costs are not covered in case of repatriation or vehicle exchange due to accident or damage.
• Compensating due to loss of use of the vehicle.
Any damages to the tires, the wheels and underneath parts of the car are not covered by any insurance policy and are the responsibility of the renter.
Happy car rental in any case, is not obligated to replace a flat tire or damages in music devices (radio, CD/mp3 player, etc.)
Happy Car rental will not refund any phone calls, taxi or hotel costs.
Happy car rental will not be held responsible for anyone driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, causing willful damage, off road driving, driving without care and attention or damages caused by negligence and traffic violations.
Any unnoticed accident or damage to the vehicle may be interpreted as negligence. (For example, refueling with a wrong type of fuel) This may result in a charge to the client.
The client will accept direct responsibility in respect of such claims.
* Damages to car’s locks and windshield / 
** A. Lessor provides Renter and any additional driver with insurance coverage by insurance companies of its choice for death or injuries of third parties, passengers or not, of Vehicle (the Vehicle driver is excluded) to the total maximum amount of  1.220.000,00 and for material damages of third parties except Lessor’s vehicle caused on objects inside or on vehicle to the total maximum amount of €1.220.000,00 provided that they do not violate any term of this agreement.
B. Lessor provides insurance coverage against third parties only to those persons who use Vehicle with its permission, by an insurance policy, the terms of which are available for examination.
C. Luggage is not covered by insurance and Renter is responsible for any loss or damage of property belonging to him or not. Lessor holds no responsibility for any such loss, damage etc. at the time of rental or after the return of Vehicle to the Lessor.

Very dirty interior of the car will charge with 100€ for cleaning 

Pets allowed only in box if we find pets hair in car charge is 200E

11. Theft Protection (Τ.P.)

This insurance is included in our rates and is subject to the deductible amount mentioned previously per category. Please note that Theft Protection (T.P.) is not valid in case of driver’s negligence.

12. Taxes

A 24% VAT is included in all rates.

13. Driving outside the Greek borders

It’s strictly NOT allowed to cross the Greek borders with an Happy Car Rental vehicle.

14. Ferry the car

Our rates include free and preauthorized permission to ferry the car to all Greek Islands.

15. Additional Drivers (A.D.)

Additional drivers can be added without any additional charges as long as they fulfill all requirements mentioned above.

16. License plates removal

In case of illegal parking or performing any illegal action which might result in the license plates taken off of the HAPPY CAR RENTAL vehicle by the police, the renter is obligated to pay the additional days that the plates remain in the police’s custody, as that renders the vehicle useless for that specific period, which consequently means loss of working days for ACR. The renter will also be obligated to pay any fines occuring from the aforementioned actions in full.

17. Terms of Use

During the rental, Renter assumes full responsibility to take care of the vehicle, to check its mechanical condition, the oil, water, etc, as well as the tires and the general vehicle’s driving condition. Any repair of the vehicle by the Renter himself or any other party designated by the Renter is not allowed without prior consent of Lessor. Vehicle is not allowed to travel outside Greece.
Vehicle shall not be used:
a. To carry persons or property or hire.
b. Propel or law any vehicle, trailer or other objects.
c. In any race, test or contest.
d. For subleasing to a third Renter.
e. Against the Greek Law.
f. While Renter or the driver or any additional drivers are under the influence of alcohol, hallucinatory drugs, narcotics or barbiturates.
g. By any person other than Renter, unless such person has been previously designated and authorized by the Lessor in the space provided in the reverse side of this agreement.
h. To transfer or carry heavy luggage or objects, inflammable materials, staining or badly smelling goods, narcotics, explosives, arms, munitions etc.
i. To transfer or carry illegal immigrants or non immigrants or to operate illegal acts.

Rates:The rates posted on the website may change  without notice. Official rate is online in our website. Every offer that is not book and lock the price may change.
